HOW TO GET A LISTING ON GOOGLE BUSINESS
What are Google Business Profiles?
(Formally Google My Business, Google Places)
Google Business Profiles are a free and easy-to-use tool for businesses to manage their online presence across Google.
GMB is a crucial tool for businesses who are looking to create brand awareness and increase leads to their business. We rarely see it being used to its full potential, but it’s a fantastic easy tool for businesses.
In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to get your business listed on Google, in six easy-to-follow steps.
Step One: Head to Google Business Profiles
Google will now allow you to search for your business, but if it’s not listed here, we’re going to click add your business to Google.
Step Three: Name Your Business on Google
Google will now let you name your business. Then it will allow you to categorise your business (e.g. builders).
After this, we want Google to add our location, so click Yes. You will then fill out your business address.
Google will now allow you to specify what area your business is looking to serve in (eg. London, Liverpool, USA).
Step Four: Add Your Businesses Contact Details
In this step, Google wants you to fill out your business’s contact number and your website URL.
Step Five: Verify Your Google Listing
Now Google will want to verify your business to place the listing. Once you enter your address, Google will post you a postcard with a code to allow you to verify. During COVID, however, you may find that Google will verify you automatically.
Step Six: Enter Your Google Verification Code
Once you’ve received your postcard. You need to head to Google.com/MyBusiness. On the homepage, you need to click Verify Now.
Then you will be allowed to fill the code into Google, and your listing will be verified and will begin. That’s it! You’re done.
